Stacey Goyette was named to lead the new Earlham softball program on May 17, 2022.
Goyette brings experience ranging from NCAA Division I through high school and travel softball. She most recently has served as an assistant coach with Butler University as the pitching coach. With the Bulldogs, Goyette has been a part of three Big East Conference tournament teams (2017, 2021, 2022). The Bulldogs recorded a record of 31-17 in 2022 and finished in second place in the conference regular season standings.
Goyette's pitchers have enjoyed success in competition under her guidance. Alyssa Graves was named a unanimous Big East Pitcher of the Year by the conference in 2022. She recorded an ERA of 1.12 in conference games and held her opponents to a .164 batting average with a 10-0 record. Goyette's pitchers recorded the lowest ERA and ranked in the top two for strikeouts in the Big East Conference for both 2020 and 2021.
Before rejoining her alma mater in 2016, Goyette was the head softball coach of Shenandoah High School in Middletown, Ind. where she served for six years. In 2014, her squad won the IHSSA sectionals.
A graduate of Butler University, Goyette earned a plethora of awards as a player on the diamond. In 1993, Goyette was named first team All-MCC and placed on the MCC tournament team after leading the conference in batting average and doubles for the season. She was named to the conference second team in 1992 and had the highest batting average of the Bulldogs that season.
